Data Solutions
As with voice solutions there are many data solution options in the market. The convergence of voice and data networks has made it very difficult to select a data solution without impacting the voice solution and vice versa. The proper selection of voice or data products depends on evaluating the current communications needs of the business and how these needs would change in the future. Such evaluation is a complex and time consuming task.
Varietel has the experience and resources to assist you with the evaluation of your communication needs. With your help we evaluate your communication requirements, we search and analyze the possible solutions in the market and provide you with the best solution that fits your current needs and can expand and grow with you in the future.
Data Products
- Private Line - Point to point circuits, like T1, DS3, optical circuits or Ethernet. Private lines offer low latency and security.
- T1 - point-to-point line with a 1.54mbps capacity for data or 24 voice channels.
- Fractional T1 - Is sold at a fraction of T1 capacity for lower price.
- DS3 - Dedicated circuit delivered over copper or fiber. It is used for voice as well as data.
- Optical Circuits - Carry digital signals over fiber optic (SONET) network. Optical circuits are available in capacities of OC3, OC12, OC48 and OC192. The general rule for calculating the speed of OCn circuit is n x 51.8mbps.
- Ethernet Private Lines - E-Line services are available in high speeds of 10mbps, 100mbps, 1gigabit and 10gigabit. A few carriers even offer 40gigabit Ethernet.
- MPLS - Multi-Protocol Label Switching technology can be used for different classes of media, e.g. voice, data and video. MPLS provides for QoS (Quality of Service) in the network by providing the capability for setting different priorities for different service types.
- DSL - High speed Internet access over regular telephone lines.
- Ethernet LAN - E-LAN services are multipoint to multipoint Ethernet services.
- VPN - Virtual Private Networks connects multiple sites together over the public Internet or an operator's own IP or MPLS network. It offers a cheaper alternative to private circuits connecting multiple sites. It is a common way of connecting small offices to the main office.
- Metro Ethernet - This service is used to connect branch offices to the company Intranet over short distances. It is a cheaper alternative to using private lines.
- Wireless WAN - Provides connections using wireless routers connected to cellular networks.
